This couple approaching retirement wanted a space to read, relax and research their family trees, but their home office was dark and uninviting due to a poor furniture layout, dark colours and inadequate lighting. 

I chose light colours for walls, carpet and furnishings to enhance the natural daylight, and positioned tall shelving units around two walls, leaving a clear passage to a desk with plenty of space for computer and paper research.  

White wood slat blinds bounce sunlight into the room and recessed led spotlights brightly light the workspace and over the comfortable reading chairs, making it an inviting, cheerful space to retreat to.
